This research aims to study the use of online teaching platforms (Moodle and Teams) and the feeling of competence in this respect of a sample of students enrolled in L1 or M1 in a French university, in linking these variables to exam success. The results show on the one hand significant differences in the use of Moodle and Teams between the students of the two levels considered. On the other hand, if we note a non-negligible effect of the academic characteristics of students on their feeling of competence, the analyzes produced show the importance of taking into account other factors to better understand this feeling. Finally, we show that only the feeling of competence with regard to Moodle exerts an effect on the average grade in the first semester.
