Broadly speaking, my work falls within the field of the sociology of education and public policy, focusing on the analysis of education policies and the conditions under which they are implemented in school settings. A significant part of my research is devoted to mental health issues in schools, in particular the way in which pupils’ difficulties and distress are defined, identified and addressed by school staff. I am also interested in the inequalities that may arise or be reinforced through these processes. My research draws on both quantitative and qualitative methods, adopting a mixed-methods approach.
