In 2019, territorialized educational policies took on new relevance with the creation of “Cités éducatives”, located in priority “city policy” neighborhoods (QPV), 8 of which are in Burgundy Franche-Comté. The CITESCOL project asks, firstly, what is the extent of educational inequalities in these neighborhoods, and how do they evolve over the course of students’ schooling? Secondly, to what extent do school mobilities in these neighborhoods explain inequalities in acquisition between pupils? First, we will use data collected from children in the ELFE cohort (INED/INSERM), born in 2011 and followed over 20 years. Secondly, an interview survey will be conducted with middle-school students in a Cité éducative. The aim of the project is to identify levers for improving school retention and educational attainment, which are key variables in the economic development of local areas.
